finally feeling it

He stands at the bus stop like he always does every day, waiting for the normal Rapid KL bus to come. In his right hand: a black iPod Nano, no bigger than the size of his palm. His bag is slung, across his chest. His jeans are faded, his t-shirt looks crumpled, his shoes are dirty. Who would ever love anyone like me, he whispers to himself.

A girl walks past him. She walks gracefully, like the wind dancing through the trees. Even so, she doesn’t dress gracefully: worn out jeans, a plain white t-shirt, cheap aviators and worn out ballet flats. Her hair is up in a ponytail and some of her hair is sticking out. She looks around and notices him. She looks at him with curiosity and finds him very appealing.

He notices her and she coyly looks away, avoiding his gaze. Usually when he looks at a girl he’ll wonder, why do I seem to dislike looking at every single girl I come upon? But he doesn’t feel a disliking for this girl, not this time. The girl looks at him for the second time and walks away, leaving him feeling uneasy, uncanny and flustered but at the same time; he finally felt what it felt like to be in love.
